Lewes Alumni Artist-in-Residence Launches Trendsetting Fashion Brand!

In a brilliant fusion of artistic expression and entrepreneurial spirit, our ESC Alumni and now artist-in-residence Jack Clough has taken the creative plunge into the world of fashion. The brand, ‘youmei’, showcases a blend of innovative design, drawing inspiration from Jack's time as a student and the vibrant atmosphere of our college. With a commitment to sustainability and originality, youmei is poised to make waves, proving that creativity knows no bounds in the dynamic realm of fashion.

Kicking off a series of exclusive launch events, youmei joined forces with record label Hand in Hand Records, curating an unforgettable experience at The Tempest in the vibrant city of Brighton. The night unfolded as a symphony of fashion and music, captivating the crowd of music enthusiasts who revelled in a unique "Night of Giving." In a gesture of gratitude, youmei delighted guests with limited edition T-shirts. Ed Stehpenson, Hand in Hand Records Founder "We believe in the power of artistic collaboration to create unforgettable experiences. Partnering with youmei for the launch event was an exhilarating journey and a testament to the magic that unfolds when music and fashion converge. We're proud to have played a part in this harmonious fusion, bringing innovation and joy to the forefront of artistic expression." The seamless fusion of fashion and music isn't just a collaboration; it's a brilliant stroke of genius, where each artistic sphere effortlessly elevates and complements the other, creating an unforgettable immersive atmosphere for all who attended.

Adrian Beasley, Lecturer in Art & Design, ESC Lewes said "Watching our talented alumni, Jack, evolve from student to the creative force behind youmei has been nothing short of inspiring. Their journey exemplifies the boundless possibilities that await our students. Jack's artistic expression and business initiative not only showcases their skill but also highlights the transformative impact of our educational environment. As a tutor, witnessing the initial launch and collaborative success with Hand in Hand Records was a proud moment. It reinforces our commitment to nurturing innovative thinkers and providing a platform for their dreams to flourish. The future of our students is as promising and diverse as their creative endeavours."

As we celebrate Jack's accomplishments, we're reminded that the creative journey doesn't end with graduation; it evolves into new and exciting chapters. Jack's story serves as an inspiration for current and future students at East Sussex College, demonstrating that artistic expression can flourish beyond the studio. Keep an eye out for the next exciting chapter in youmei’s journey as the series of launch events unfolds - watch this space! youmei_fashion
