At each of the College’s reception areas, there were collection boxes for staff, students and visitors to make donations to Dom’s Food Mission charity, who are known for their exceptional work to save food from landfill and give it to families and those in local communities who may need a helping hand.
The collection bins at each of the College’s campuses were filled with food supplies including tins of baked beans, pasta and custard to name a few. Tony Fuller from Dom’s Food Mission visited the Hastings campus to collect the donations, which will now be distributed to those in need.
Following the successful campaign, Tony Fuller, Project Coordinator at Dom’s Food Mission, said,
“We are very appreciative of this opportunity to work together with East Sussex College and receive their support to collect donations for those in need at a particularly difficult time of year for many.
“The reverse advent calendar campaign proved hugely successful and made a positive impact locally, reducing food waste and helping others in need.
