The BIGGEST Freshers Events

Last week, East Sussex College hosted ‘Freshers 2023’. This years events were the biggest events that the college has ever held with over 2000 students engaging across our campuses in Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes and Ore Valley.

Students at East Sussex College had the chance have fun on inflatables, arcade machines and air hockey tables. Students also had the chance to hold snakes, lizards, giant African snails and even stroke a tortoise or two with the incredible ‘Jaws N Claws’.

Students were also able to engage with local companies and charities about volunteering, careers and how to get involved. This helped open the horizon for many students who were unaware o opportunities that were on their doorsteps.

No event is also complete without free food as Dominos Pizza handed out 500 slices of Pizza at our Station Plaza campus! Students were also able to dig in with candy floss and popcorn at all our campuses.

Vendors and companies praised students of East Sussex College for being friendly, engaged and having a genuine interest in the stalls that were on offer. Many have now got back in touch with the college about working together going forward.

I know students really valued being able to have time out at the start of the academic year to meet new people and make new friends. A huge thank you to staff and vendors who went above and beyond the make sure our students have an amazing afternoon.”
