Being part of the Students’ Union will give you the opportunity to take part in projects and teach you skills that will add to your prospective employment credentials. For that reason, it will look great on your CV and future job applications.
EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY AMBASSADOR
x 2 positions available per campus
Equality and Diversity ambassadors will focus on the voices of our BAME students, and look into making sure the college is accessible for anyone with visible or non-visible disabilities, or any additional learning need, to ensure their voice is heard.
(Equality & Diversity ambassadors and LGBTQIA+ ambassadors will work together at times to come up with project ideas and potential training ideas)
LGBTQIA+ AMBASSADOR
x 2 positions available per campus
LGBTQIA+ ambassadors will make sure that any LGBTQ+ students feel safe and accepted within the college and classroom settings. You will also work cross campus with other LGBTQIA+ ambassadors to create blog posts for our LGBTQIA+ SPACE blog as well as some recommendations for My Student Life.
EVENTS & ENRICHMENT AMBASSADOR
x 2 positions available per campus
The Enrichment and Events Ambassadors will help to develop ideas, based on feedback from the student community, for activities, clubs and the bigger events (like Freshers Fair). We want YOU to help decide what will be interesting and fun, and help us to plan and organise them. We’re open to ideas for future college-wide events. Have your say and participate in creating some memorable events!
CHARITY AMBASSADOR
x 2 positions available per campus
This is a really important role as it helps us, as a college community, plan for and organise fundraising events for national and local charities. Your role will be to encourage others to get involved in fundraising activities that support organisations in the wider community.
ENVIRONMENTAL AMBASSADOR
x 2 positions available per campus
In your role as the Environmental/Green Ambassador you will lead on motivating others to become more energy efficient and adopt more environmentally friendly lifestyles and use renewable energy. By linking with local and national organisations, you will be participating in significant debate around the subject of how we can contribute to living more sustainably.
19+ AMBASSADOR
x 2 positions available per campus
We need you to gather all the information and feedback from fellow students (19+). We want you to feel like your voices are heard and that we as a college are meeting all your requirements.
This is just a brief overview of what we would like from each ambassador position. We also want to hear your ideas for each area. Your voice is important!
What happens when I become an ambassador?
If your application is successful you will meet with the Student Experience team at your campus and they will explain your next steps. If you have any questions about the ambassador positions or would like some more information please email Student.Union@escg.ac.uk (please make sure to include the campus you are based at in this email)
You will also receive a badge to wear on your lanyard so students can identity you as someone they can speak to with regards to your ambassador position.
There will be regular campus based meetings to discuss the information you’ve collected and see where we are progress wise with changes that need to be made. Fingers crossed in the future we can have cross campus (in person) meetings so you can meet with the ambassadors from other ESCG campuses.
