ESC Celebrate International Women’s Day

On March 8th 2023, staff and students at East Sussex College Hastings celebrated the amazing women, both past and present, as well as amazing women who are in their own lives.

Students and staff were able to see a variety of women’s accomplishments in a pop up gallery space. Whether that be what Judi Dench has accomplished in the world of acting, Emma Gonzlez and the activism that she is doing after a shooting occurred in her school, Serena Williams and her historical run in Tennis, Malala Yousafzai and becoming the youngest Nobel Prize winner, as well as variety of others from different walks of life.

It wasn’t just about gaining information however as staff and students were encouraged to write down who inspires them and then if they could to go tell them when they next saw them. Some wrote tutors, some wrote family members, some wrote friends, whilst others wrote other influential people in their lives.

It was a great chance to gather together and think positively on the impact women have had in our lives and what they are currently doing.
