Eastbourne Student Notices
We are half-way through January already! There is lots going on, on campus, this week.
Our Veganuary event is happening next week, Film Society is back, Allsorts will be attending on campus, you have one more week to suggest Clubs and Societies on campus, and there is also information about becoming a Youth Consultant.
Don’t forget the UCAS deadline is fast approaching and applications need to be in as soon as possible.
There is also an online anti-gambling workshop for parents and carers, with the registration link below.
This month we are celebrating Veganuary.
Whether you have considered veganism before, have no idea what it involves, or how to do it healthily, there will be something for you.

The Eastbourne Vegan Society holding a Vegan Food share event where people are able to see and taste a wide selection of foods. If you would like to bring along our own dish, then please make sure to write out the ingredients (in case of allergies).

FILM SOCIETY
On the 23rd January they are showing ‘Train to Busan’ in King’s Restaurant.
‘Train to Busan’ (2016) is a South Korean action horror film. A father and his estranged daughter are on a train from Seoul to Busan, when a zombie apocalypse breaks out across the country which seems to have no cure or cause.

ALLSORTS
From this month, Allsorts will be attending on Campus to offer groups and 1-to-1 sessions for those who identify as LGBTQIA+.
“Allsorts provides non-judgemental and safe spaces for […] young people to connect, feel heard, valued and safe.”
These sessions are not drop-in sessions. However, if you would like to attend, Josh from Allsorts will be coming onto campus on Wednesdays and will be able to talk you through the process.

ANTI-GAMLING WORKSHOP
Ygam’s vision is for every child and young person to be resilient to and safeguarded against gaming and gambling harms.
FOR PARENTS AND CARERS
An awareness session to help parents, carers, grandparents, aunts and uncles navigate this often confusing topic.
Topics covered:
- Gambling: exploring the influences on children and young people.
- Gaming: discussing the benefits and concerns of gaming, including microtransactions.
- Understanding the blurred lines between gaming and gambling.
- Recognising the signs of harm and where to go for support.
