Esports students host Charity Fundraising Tournament for Young Carers

Esports students are running a fundraising event in aid of young carers for local charity, Care for the Carers East Sussex.

The Esports students at East Sussex College’s Lewes campus are organising an exciting fundraising event in support of young carers for the local charity, Care for the Carers East Sussex. Dubbed the ‘Over-the-top Overwatch Fundraising tournament,’ this event is scheduled to take place from 3pm to 5pm on Thursday, 22nd February.

This initiative extends beyond the gaming community, as dignitaries from Care for the Carers East Sussex and local government representatives have been invited to participate in the students’ efforts to raise funds for the cause.

It's important to recognise that a carer can be anyone who provides indispensable assistance to someone in need, particularly young individuals who often find themselves caring for family members such as parents, grandparents, or siblings. The presence of thousands of young carers within the local community outlines the significance of our support.

Your generosity will facilitate young carers' access to essential assistance and offer them respite from their caregiving responsibilities, ensuring they do not bear the burden alone.

Every donation received will present a challenge for one of the players, adding to the excitement and engagement for the event. Pledges can be made both in advance and on the day of the tournament. If you're happy to contribute, please consider making a donation by clicking here.

The tournament will be broadcasted live on the charity's Twitch channel at www.twitch.tv/care_for_the_carers. Tune in and show your support!
