Welcome to February! Thank you all who attended last week’s Health and Wellbeing Event. We had over 20 vendors and hundreds of students participate!

Launching New Clubs

We are excited to be launching TWO BRAND NEW CLUBS!

Are you a budding actor? Would you like to be part of a Theatre Company here at ESCG- Hastings?

This is your opportunity to take part in the National Theatre Connections programme. You will explore, rehearse and perform a play at a local venue in March and then at Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells in April.

You must be available every Tuesday 4.40pm – 6.40pm and on a few Saturdays. You must commit to the project from Feb – May.

Please sign up via by emailing Dan Glover (dan.glover@escg.ac.uk) – starting on Tuesday 6th February at 4.40pm – 6.40pm - Room 003 Ground Floor – you will take part in some theatre activities/workshop and find out more on this day.

Our second club will be a Debate Club! This will be happening on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with our first club being Wednesday 7th February at 11:30am - 12:30pm in G.003.

This is a club and you can just turn up to and attend and more information will be given out during the first session!

We look forward to seeing many students there.

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year 2024 is a Year of the Dragon, more specifically, Wood Dragon, starting from February 10th, 2024, and lasting until January 28th, 2025.

The 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. 2024 is a year of the Dragon. According to Chinese zodiac predictions, Dragons, Goats, Dogs, Oxes, and Rabbits will face challenges this year due to opposing Tai Sui (Jupiter), the deity governing fortune. The luckiest zodiac signs are predicted to be Monkeys, Roosters, and Pigs.

NHS Peer Coaching Workshops

WOULD YOU LIKE £30 LOVETOSHOP VOUCHERS?

We are looking for young people aged 16-19yrs to be peer health coaches.

You will receive two training sessions where you will learn the "making every contact count" approach to behaviour change techniques; this will take place at East Sussex College, and in return, you will be given a Love2Shop Voucher for your attendance at (and) participation in the event on the 6th March.

What you need to do:

• Attend two teaching sessions

• Attend the college Health and wellbeing event on the 6th March and give advice to your peers.

Next Student Voice Meeting

Just a reminder for all those involved in Student Voice that our next meeting will be the 28th February 2024 at 12:30pm in SP0.18.
